Traditional Indian Head Massage – Training and Practice

This practical course is designed for all those who wish to learn the ancient art of the Traditional Indian Head Massage. Born from traditions of many thousands of years ago it is known as Champi in India, where mothers massage their daughter’s head with oils so that their hair grows strong and healthy.
On the other hand, history shows us that since the Vedic Teachings, this massage is a part of the traditional Ayurvedic Massage.
Champi was acknowledged in the west in the last decades as the Indian Head Massage, having been adapted to treat the shoulders, neck, head, face and ears and is widely used because of its numerous demonstrated therapeutic benefits.
Among other effects, it reduces stress, improves blood circulation and lymphatic drainage, oxygenates the brain, helps hair grow healthily, eradicates headaches, combats insomnia, anxiety, neck pain, muscular stiffness in the shoulders and neck and it also gives a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.
ALBA’s Champi Training is essentially based on traditional ayurvedic wisdom, keeping in mind the western physiology and lifestyle.
