PRESENTATION
In this millennium the oriental therapies are gaining more and more popularity in the West. The Ayurvedic Medical Science always had a strong allied in the massages using a selection of procedures and applications. The Ayurveda Manual Therapies, in its whole, are holistic techniques that support the integration, the equilibrium and the dynamic exchange between body and mind.They are mentioned in the ancient Vedic’s texts and are characterised by the use of oils.The various massage techniques are known since the beginning of Ayurveda as the complementary method to convey potential to these distinct Science. It was and still is used by the families as current practise and in medicine was and still is used as a diagnostic method, a treatment and as prevention.Religion has used these techniques as a mean to purify the body.
AIM
This course in Ayurveda Manual Therapies aims:- To transmit some of the manual techniques of body treatments that is part of the Vedic tradition.- To form practitioners, specialized and competent in the key techniques of the Ayurvedic massage therapies (Indian).- To reveal the Ayurveda Manual Therapies as a method that is a complement to the conventional therapies.- To promote the Vedic culture on such places where the manual therapies are practised.The course programme was divided in independent modules. The student, in accordance to his convenience, may take up whatever module he is interested in, having 18 months to finalize the mandatory modules.The following modules are mandatory, chosen in any order of preference.
1 – Traditional Ayurveda Massage (Traditional Indian Massage) – duration 80h
2 – Traditional Ahbyanga Massage – duration 64h
3 – Shree Marma Abhyanga Massage – duration 32h
4 – Traditional Indian Head Massage (Alba) – duration 24h
(*) People that have participated in other courses in Manual Therapies in Vedic tradition and want to recognize them, may replace it for one of the modules 3 or 4. However they must request it, in writing, with a copy of the diploma or certificate, emitted by a certified entity. The accreditation presupposes ongoing a written and practical exam. The association charges a fee to submit you to the examination and to emit the official recognition.The modules have both theoretical and practical components.
On the theories modules there is:
1 – A general approach to all techniques.
2 – A specific theory for each technique.
On the practical modules there is:T
he basic as well as the advance sequence of each type of massage. There is constant practical training during the course.
The programme of each module is available on both sites of the Association (see courses).
Teachers:
Both practical and theoretical modules will be given by teachers from the Association as well as foreign guests specialized on the Vedic Manual Therapies.

Has an edition on both vídeo aula and dvd on Ayurveda Massage in two volumes. Founder of the Ayurveda Association in Brasil and the Luso-Brazilian Ayurveda Association and Associated Disciplines.

The Association has various timetables to offer along the year. The student chooses the one that is most adapted to his activities.
- Group 1: After work with 1 or 2 lessons of 3hs per week – from 19h00 to 22h30 (half hour interval)

ADMISSION CONDITIONS:
To participate on either module or course promoted by the Association the following is requested: - fill the candidate form and payment of the subscription fee- Bring a photograph for the identity card to be issued- A written letter explaining the motives to participate in the course- Interview
Note: The students that have already taken 1 or more modules (***) must, to obtain the certificate on Ayurveda Manual Therapies, participate only on the missing modules.
(***) CERTIFICATES RECOGNITION:
The recognized certificates on Ayurveda Manual Therapies are the ones emitted by Brasil Ayurveda Association, Associação Luso-Brasileira de Ayurvedica e Disciplinas Associadas. Certificates issued by other entities may be submitted to appreciation. However, the student must take an exam to confirm the grade. The exam has a fee of 50 euros. If the student is approved, he must attend that course with a 50% discount of the total cost. If not approved he must attend the course and the full amount must be paid.
To become a member and honorary partner of the European Association Yoga, Yogatherapy and Ayurveda Professionals it is necessary:
1º Must pass the courses promoted by the Association or through accordance’s with analogous entities.
2º Must pass courses promoted by analogous entities of renowned significance, recognized by the Association.3º Must be an associate and have the association fees of the following Associations and Entities up to date:

b) I.Y.T.A. – International Yoga Teachers Association through its filial the Associação Internacional dos Professores de Yoga do Brasil.

Prices:
It varies accordingly to the module and the modality chosen (see price on the course programmes available on the site of both associations).
Materials: A notepad and the necessary material will be given by the Association. The student must bring appropriate clothing to give and receive massages, natural oil for massages (vegetable oil like sesame oil, walnuts oil, grape…) a sheet an a big towel.
Service Conditions:
The course on Ayurveda Manual Therapies will take place in the Association headquarter in Lisbon or in its Oporto’s office or yet in any other rented location. Nevertheless the student will be notified on the moment of appliance. For each module there will be a maximum of 18 students per class. Besides the rooms duly equipped for the course meanings the Association gives each student, for each module attended, a theoretical and practical notebook. If the student wants he may become an associate of the ALBA Association, having the benefit of 6 months association fee. After acceptance by the board he will benefit from discounts on the subscription fees of other courses promoted by both Associations. He may also have access to the internet page to register as an associate of the ALBA and after finalising the course, on the site of the European Association Yoga and Yogatherapy and Ayurveda Professionals.
